Alexandria is ready to channel her passion for the Village of Newtown into serving you.
I first began following council meetings when they were live-streamed online during the pandemic. I tuned in because I wanted to better understand how decisions were being made in the place where I’m raising my family. Since then, I’ve been attending council meetings in person and have made it a priority to stay informed and involved.
I’m also active in the PTO at our local public school, where all three of my children are enrolled alongside many other children from Newtown. I believe my consistent presence at council meetings and my involvement in our schools have given me meaningful insights and perspectives, as well as a personal investment, that would make me a valuable asset on council.
I grew up two hours north of here in rural Ohio. I attended a K–12 school all in one building and graduated in a class of just 52 students. After earning my degree from Miami University in 2012 and spending a few years in Northern Kentucky, my husband and I decided it was time to buy a home. With our six-month-old in tow, we looked at houses all around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Out of all that searching, we chose to put down roots here in Newtown. This November marks ten years since we made that decision. I’m not running for council to push an outside agenda, but rather to lean into and amplify the good that brought my family to choose Newtown in the first place, when we could have chosen anywhere.
For the past five years, I’ve served as a precinct executive here in Newtown. In this role, I’ve worked directly with neighbors to share information about candidates, issues, and elections. I assist with voter registration and encourage voter turnout. I see this work as an extension of my commitment to building trust, strengthening community connections, and ensuring Newtown voices are heard in the democratic process.
As a mother of three young children, I care deeply not only about the current state of our Village, but also about what it will look like in 20, 30, even 40 years. I want Newtown to be the best place to raise my family now, a place where my children will want to lay their own roots in the future, and, hopefully, a place where my grandchildren will want to come visit me someday.
My hope in seeking a council seat is to put Newtown first, as a unique, vibrant, and safe community. I want to help support all the things that make this village a wonderful place to live, and to ensure it’s even better for the generations to come.
